Love film

Emma Jeffs

There is nothing like gaining a little more privacy in a busy city is there? These decorative window films by Emma Jeffs are great for just that. These removable films give you privacy without obscuring much needed light and actually transform the room into something quite dreamy! If you have an unsightly view outside your window or just want some privacy in your bathroom from passers by, these pretty designs give the impression of frosted glass.

Available in 6 designs, and in 1 x 1.2 m rolls Emma has suggested offcuts can also be used for glass table tops and glass wardrobe doors.

Zina de Plagny at Surface View

Surface View

Wall wizards Surface View are known for their extensive image library of archived designs with which they adorn walls and windows in your home. We wrote about them here last year.

Their recent addition has me breathless. Surface View have been given access to a beautiful collection of original mid-century textile designs, from the archives of French textile designer Zina de Plagny, prints were created for Parisian couturiers in the forties and fifties. The designs were retrieved from their portfolios last year, after a 60 years’ sleep, when they were revealed to the public for an exhibition.

Through Surface View these rare mid-century designs, can now be applied to wall murals, canvases, blinds and posters. Aren’t they gorgeous? You can see the whole collection here.

Le Cirque

Cirque

I found this mysterious wallpaper on German wallpaper distributor Tapeten Agentur’s website, with only the title ‘Le Cirque’ attached.

I literally can’t stop daydreaming about its characters – an exotic troupe of brave acrobats and glamorous show-people, with their menagerie of animals navigating across a magical globe. This would be so beautiful simply framed.

Anyone have any idea as to who it’s by?

Les Invasions Ephemeres

Les Invasions

I spent a long time on this site [with the sound on] feeling a little like Amelie Poulin. With each click, it dragged me further into its quirky, whimsy, Parisian world till I was  on the verge of running out of my front door and hugging a complete stranger, or presenting an old lady on a park bench with a saucy romance [you may silently mock me but I dare you to give it a try].

Les Invasions Ephemeres is an online French boutique which primarily produces decals to enchant all the surfaces of your home, computer, iPod or scooter! They have recently added wonderfully kitsch passport covers and chic illustrated bags to their ever growing collection.

I have just discovered Surface View…

Using image libraries and archives from galleries such as the V&A, The National Gallery, Getty and new talent like Ella Doran and Rana Salam, they can create for you, a blind, a mural or a print to be displayed in any environment in your home.

The collections comprise of intricate details of lace from the V&A’s collection that can adorn the full width and height of your wall, or archived patterns from William Morris. Impressionist figures may stroll across your bedroom wall and cracked hands of old masters may sit folded at your dinner table.

Surface View

Don’t expect to find over exposed Warhols or Lichinstiens and tired impressionists works, but a carefully sourced eclectic mix of imagery that take on a new life when transformed into a large-format interior graphic.

The murals can be used inside and outside and applied to any wall surface, from bare brick to painted whilst the high resolution of the images allow the patinas and winkles of the original work to be visible.

Every product has the option to be unique with custom colourways, repeats and cropping available – William Morris prints can go neon and period etchings can be cloned.

Limitless possibilities…
