Riverside Apartment Makeover

Swansea Apartment

It’s so nice to see that a landlord has put some real thought into the interior of a rental property! Design savvy Obsessilicious blogger bought this apartment overlooking the river in Swansea, and has just finished decorating it to a simple and chic spec in five days!

The flat was bought up to scratch by paying attention to the details, curtains and blinds were shortened, canvases were painted, cushions were handmade and standard white Ikea chairs were customised black. On a strict budget of £3500, everything from egg cups to double beds were bought for very, very lucky tenants!

What a great, calm and cleverly executed rental property.

Victorian Terrace Renovation

This week we have a renovation in Shepherds Bush – no before pictures, but it’s great to have a peek at some amazing decor ideas….

After 5 years the owners finally completed the refurbishment on their spacious Victorian Terrace in West London, creating a stylish space littered with meaningful touches. The first thing that struck me was the wonderful artwork in the nursery, created using ordinary frames from Ikea and mounting sentimental  keepsakes – Russian wood illustrations inside. Such a striking effect!

This spacious kitchen is stunning with tall light enhancing modern French windows which work spectacularly with its traditional Victorian facade.

The kitchen is styled with on-trend products like People Will Always Need Plates tableware and  a homemade decoupage dining table papered with old sheet music belonging to a relative who was in the Bach Choir.

Glasgow Duplex Makeover

This stunning house makeover comes from Living Etc reader Rachel. Rachel and her husband bought this one bedroom duplex garden flat in Glasgow and converted it into a two bedroom flat, moving the kitchen from the lower level to what was originally a large entrance hall and knocking down lots of walls to make a large open planned living space.

I can’t believe how the once dark space is transformed into something so airy! My favourite details are the tiles in the ensuite and the charming bedroom.
