Nothing to see here

This home has absolutely nothing inside it…

Isn’t that kind of refreshing? I love being inspired by a wonderful interior, but sometimes it’s nice just to feel the creaking and movements of an old property and imagine your things inside…?

Have you ever seen such an expansive entranceway in such a building, like the one below? It’s unusual to see a property function like this, with two great big bay windows at the front of it, because in London this space would immediately be divided down the middle… and the facade itself is so unusual – a sort of mish-mash of styles… do you think it works?

Homely

It fascinates me how Swedish interiors manage to transform bright white interiors into such warm and comfortable lived-in spaces. With a touch of design flair, vintage quirks and layers of textiles a homely and stylish space is created by Swedish design and estate agency Alvhem Makleri.

Rose Villa

Is this not just a house from a perfect Enid Blyton tale or a Midsummer Murder village? Appropriately named Rose Villa, this sweet home in the countryside is from a bygone era… The decor is a bit girlie for my taste, but it is spring and the lanterns at dusk had me at hello!

I can’t resist interiors with such striking contrasts, not to mention adorned with favourite designers works. How beautiful do these copper and black Tom Dixon lights look against the bright white walls, and the sculptural Autoban floor light? The thing I love the most about these types of interiors is that the premise behind them is so simple. Pick two colours and go for it!

This Danish treetop chalet was designed by Copenhagen design studio Soren Rose.
