My dream has always been to have a glittering vintage chandelier hanging from a tree in my garden – overhanging a stylishly rumpled dining table – obviously in this climate, not such a clever idea – but a girl can dream…

The Vintage Chandelier Company import beautiful chandeliers from France and Belgium. Each individual chandelier has been restored and customised to create original one-off pieces, they have all been completely stripped, rewired and earthed with new fittings to conform with British standards. I am in love with the colourful alabaster chandelier above and the glittering brass stag chandelier below. They would both look glorious hanging from my tree!

How sensational are these bird lamps from Mathieu Challiere? I love the delicacy of the wire structure… and the vivid birds look so animated as though they are whirring around happily inside the cage.

I bet these would look stunning in the dark too, with the birds shadows splayed out over the walls…

Hi all, I had major server/internet issues last night so I wont be posting today much to my frustration. Have a sunny day today and i’ll be back tomorrow with added extras! We still have our new Phillip Pullman book review up at 1 – watch out for that.

Oh and I heart the gorgeous new stuff at Pedlars , LOVE the slate lamps, citrus orange radios and candy coloured school chairs…

I love this concept by artists Studio Job and designer Pieke Bergmans. They pair presented a collection for Italian gallery Dilmos in Milan this week. of polished bronze objects with blown-glass lamps spilling out of them!

Called ‘Wonderlamp’, the series includes a pair of buckets where the glass seems to flow from one to the other, a cooking pot with the light boiling over and a genie’s lamp with light emerging like a plume of smoke.
