Nicola Malkin was one of the first people I ever interviewed and wrote about – as subjects go, she was a pretty interesting one! Nicola is a young artist who creates large scale ceramic jewellery – giant charm bracelets, and completely oversized old fashioned stud earrings.
Since interviewing her years ago, when she had produced her very first charm bracelet, Nicola has gone onto create eccentric accessories for the likes of Vogue and many a celebrity fan. I’m loving her gorgeous and intricate new giant ceramic blooms… amazing right?
Can you believe these little fantastical treasures? French jewellery brand Miss Bibi creates tiny whimsical brooches, earrings, bracelets and rings shaped like miniature grand objects, chandeliers, antique chairs, ladders and looking glasses!
Do you remember when we discovered the beautiful Danish Ceramics last month? Well this month I have discovered they produce the most wonderful jewellery, namely these simple and delicate brooches which are… well like wearing a lovely piece of Danish Ceramic on your lapel! Which one’s your favorite? See more here.
Buying jewellery is always an exciting affair, whether you are in Tiffanys gazing into a glass case or in Topshop picking out the perfect quirky necklace for a night out [I think all ladies will agree with the blinding consumerist delight of either venture]. However, I do believe Jamie Hayon has taken shopping for pretty baubles to another level.
The interior of Octium Jewelry in Kuwait was completed in October 2009 by Studio Hayon in his signature sublime style of heavy fabrics and retro lines. Most elements were custom designed for the project using contrasting finishes like glossy lacquered woods, natural oak, ceramic and luxurious fabrics…
Jewelery is displayed in cylindrical containers that rise up from the surfaces of the tables, or display cabinets fashioned into sleek hollowed-out logs. Octium, is located in the 360º mall in Kuwait and presents the work of exclusive jewelry designers from around the globe. Beautiful inside and out!
