The Papered Parlour

The Papered Parlour

This is such an inspirational and inviting space… The Papered Parlour, is a new independent craft venue in London.

Tucked down an alley in the heart of Clapham, the space is decked out as a quirky and homely parlour – a home from home where workshops are run and performances and exhibitions held. Inhabited by artists, designers, musicians and theatre practitioners using it as a communal studio space it also doubles as a beautiful gallery available for parties and hires. Find out more here.

I would love to live there! : )

Located near the National Museum and the Grand Hotel Stockholm, the Blasieholmens Aquarium & Restaurant [known as B.A.R.] is a more casual venture from the team behind Lux Stockholm, a Michelin-starred establishment in the city. Koncept Arkitekter [the firm behind the recently opened Story Hotel in Stockholm] designed the interiors, which feature white tiling, a zinc-topped bar, industrial fittings, leather sofas, painted wood floors, and a subtle aquatic color palette. Oh… and great looking food!

Vol Townhouse

Ooooh I like! I know I have said this far too many times but this is my ideal house!

Buenos Aires architects Estudio BaBO have completed an extension to a townhouse in Argentina, where a modern rectangular structure sits on top of the original early twentieth-century town house building. Called Vol House, the extension at the top includes a the main bedroom with a glass façade, leading out onto the roof terrace.

It would be really interesting to get a good look into the rest of the town house though…

Mid-Century Home

Mid Century

It could be in LA, Osaka or a Scandinavian suburb. Designed in the late sixties and built in 1970, this house on a large leafy estate nestling in Dulwich woods in South East London is filled with natural light.

I love the luscious dark colours used, greens and navy’s which contrast so beautifully with all the wood and the mirrored wall under the stairs making the whole space even larger.

Austen House

This sweet house is aptly named ‘Austen House’. Austere and simple each room feels like it should be addressed by its correct name like ‘the parlour’ and ‘pantry’. The beauty is in the period features so lovingly and neutrally painted. So, so pretty.
