Hidey Hole

Marie Claire Maison

Isn’t this beautiful woody home in Amsterdam the perfect summer hidey-hole?

The farm, near the Wadden Sea belongs to Ina, a teacher at the Design Academy Eindhoven who creates collections of textiles and her partner Matthijs a designer of exhibitions, renovates old homes into contemporary farms like the one they live in.

I love the dreamy, light-filled space accessorized with wood furniture and naturally hued woven textiles  that feels like there’s no barrier between you and the outside.

Textile Studio

OWI

I found this airy textile studio in the OWI library and fell in love with it. It’s such a tranquil space, punctuated by bold patterns and piles of fine linens.

The Papered Parlour

The Papered Parlour

This is such an inspirational and inviting space… The Papered Parlour, is a new independent craft venue in London.

Tucked down an alley in the heart of Clapham, the space is decked out as a quirky and homely parlour – a home from home where workshops are run and performances and exhibitions held. Inhabited by artists, designers, musicians and theatre practitioners using it as a communal studio space it also doubles as a beautiful gallery available for parties and hires. Find out more here.

I would love to live there! : )

Located near the National Museum and the Grand Hotel Stockholm, the Blasieholmens Aquarium & Restaurant [known as B.A.R.] is a more casual venture from the team behind Lux Stockholm, a Michelin-starred establishment in the city. Koncept Arkitekter [the firm behind the recently opened Story Hotel in Stockholm] designed the interiors, which feature white tiling, a zinc-topped bar, industrial fittings, leather sofas, painted wood floors, and a subtle aquatic color palette. Oh… and great looking food!

Vol Townhouse

Estudio Babo

Estudio Babo

Ooooh I like! I know I have said this far too many times but this is my ideal house!

Buenos Aires architects Estudio BaBO have completed an extension to a townhouse in Argentina, where a modern rectangular structure sits on top of the original early twentieth-century town house building. Called Vol House, the extension at the top includes a the main bedroom with a glass façade, leading out onto the roof terrace.

It would be really interesting to get a good look into the rest of the town house though…
