Trade fair season has officially kicked off with Maison et Objet in Paris – the place to pick up a good dose of new-year inspiration for the newest and most exquisitely designed interior and home products from the world’s most innovative brands.

I returned from Paris last night tired but happy after a wonderful stay at Hotel Amour – straight out of a chic Parisienne film – a bag full of goodies from Merci and a brain full of inspiration from Hay, Paola Navone, Society and Studio Potomak.

These days, British creative Faye Toogood is mostly known I guess for her collaborations with Tom Dixon and her minimal furniture rooted in nature. But I used to assist her when she worked as a Stylist for British interior mag, The World of Interiors many years ago, so her styling holds a special place in my heart…

Faye has always had a way with making inanimate objects feel poetic and emotive. She also executes really simple ideas and materials with huge impact. I’m interviewing her for work in a few weeks, so looking forward…

At the risk of sounding repetitive – I’m back! Instead of waxing lyrical about where I’ve been [working], I’m just going begin by posting.

I had the pleasure of heading to Amsterdam for work last week where it poured with rain and the canals roared and the pavements thrummed with torrents of showers, but the city was still charming. I visited exquisite handmade shops and remote Dutch villages and ate steak and fries in the rain while waiting for my next train back to the city. Exhausting and wonderful.
