This house in Paris that was once an abandoned factory now belongs to Aurelie Mathigot a visual artist who decorates her house using an abundance of textiles, crotchet and pattern.

Here, everyday objects are covered in soft fabrics and creativity. In the living room, the couch was covered with a patchwork of fabrics and the piano’s keyboard is covered in a knitted replica of it’s keys. Near the window, as a transition between the exterior and interior, is a bundle of branches sheathed in pieces of knitted and crocheted wool.

In the bathroom tiles and squares of wallpaper are mixed to form a patchwork. The different patterns and colors seem as though the wall had been covered and re-covered with wallpaper year after year. Above the sink, a vintage mirror reflects and increases the illusion of patchwork.

The bedroom is a space of calm in tones of mauves and greys which add to the cloud soft effect of the crocheted bedspread.

I think I’ve discovered my new favourite photographer in Dutch genius Erwin Olaf. Each of his images are epic and cinematic, and the interiors in them breathtaking. My favourite is this set – ‘Grief’ within a mid-century backdrop.

Sometimes I miss my old personal blog which used to detail the quiet and inspirational moments of my daily life. Also, cecause of the professional design-led nature of this new blog, I also don’t post large articles on the mere inspirational value of other blogs unless they are relevant to an artist or creator.

However, due to the lack of A Day With feature today I thought we could break from the norm and enjoy a look at the sweet blog, Nestled In. Nestled In is a blog that gives us a peek into the gentle lives of Finnish couple Katja and Minna who moved in together in December 2007 and blog about decorating their own home.
