I have a bit of a crush on “Hollywood Decorator” Kelly Wearstler and her laid back-glamorous style. She fuses old Hollywood glamour with sharp contemporary details and she is known as the queen of tasteful “Maximalism”! What I love is her use of natural and luxurious materials, her interiors and her own line of products for Bergdorf Goodman incorporate semi precious stones, marble, brass and other delicious materials.
Kelly’s blog My Vibe My Life is a rich source of inspiration and insight into how this talented lady sees the world. She updates her blog regularly and I just love peeking into her meetings with her “metal fabricator” who meets her on the LA curbside because his haul is just to heavy to bring up, or trips to “gem shows” to discover the most unique colours. Her eye for colour and detail is just amazing – I could praise this woman all day long!

I’m off to New York in the summer and I’m dying to visit this place – mainly because of its wonderfully Gothic sounding name, but also because of its similarity to a Natural History Museum exhibit – with its cabinets full of glittering ancient objects and furniture that look like archeological artifacts.
Erie Basin is a small shop in Brooklyn specializing in on-trend 19th century jewellery and objects. With names like, ‘1900s Edwardian Mississippi River Pearl Necklace’ [last image] each piece really resonates with character and history.
I attended Bubble at the Islington Business Design Centre last week for work. Bubble isĀ a trade fair showcasing established and emerging kids lifestyle brands from the UK, Europe and the US. I loved this trade show, it was sweet, inspiring and miniature versions of every day items are hard to resist!
One of the brands I fell in love with was Lucky Boy Sunday - a Danish kids accessories brand that creates knitted cushions, softies, blankets and other quirky knitted items for kids. I really liked their dark and humorous approach to their collections bulbous bodied characters and sinister moustached men adorn pillows, whilst knitted hands with six fingers adorn keyrings and astonished looking creatures feature on dolls. I really admire a brand who are not afraid to tap into a child’s wicked imagination!
