Rattan Roundup & 21 Cane Cuties

I think it’s time I wrapped up this rattan obsession once and for all (pun sort of intended). Cane, rattan and wicker are absolutely everywhere and I have yet to meet any interiors fan that does not go into meltdown when they see an image of a cane object on Instagram.

I saw smatterings of it years ago at trade shows in Paris in the form of vintage cane mirrors and vintage chairs which acted as props for collections that had everyone talking. Then Ikea launched that great black cane armchair and then that showstopper of a bed from Anthropologie included below. Finally these images of the headboards at the new Hotel Panache in Paris tipped me over the edge. I had to get some closure.

So here’s the ultimate Rattan Roundup with 21 cane beauties for you to feast your eyes on and an unlikely contender for a treasure trove of cane pieces – La Redoute Home. You’re welcome!

Wow, these are really beautiful things made of cane. I found your blog when searching for these. I think I will buy the Siona Vintage Rocker. Thanks for the article.

So glad it was helpful – the rocker is a great choice – feeling envious that you have room for it! : )

Great article. I have been loving cane furniture since I stumbled on an original Thonet chair a few years ago. I have been ooogling over that hotel bed frame for quite some time since it hit instagram. Do you know how I can get one? Were they custom for the hotel? Lovely blog I am so glad to find out.

Hi Cecilia – so glad you found the blog! I love that bed too – I think it was probably custom made but maybe worth dropping the interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon a line incase? Here’s her studio’s site http://www.chzon.com/contact/ Hope you find one!
