Nothing beats filling your boots on festive spirit in London’s West End – the show-stopping windows, million dollar Christmas lights and the fact it’s never quite as cold as the rest of the city in winter because of the sheer density of shops and people looking for a good time!
For me – Tottenham Court Road has always been my mecca (after a pitstop at Liberty) row after row of great design stores Heals, West Elm, Paperchase, Tiger, Waterstones for that perfect Christmas read – the list goes on. So of course I RSVP’d to Habitat’s Christmas Supper Club for Bloggers within a nanosecond of receiving the invite.
Darlings of the design world for decades – Habitat is still my number one – their designers are some of the best in the industry and the prices are better than ever.
On arrival to the store on a dark and crisp winter night, we were guided through the store to a makeshift dining room that looked so resplendent with metallic ribbons and sparkling baubles that I could have done with a pair of sunglasses whilst my eyes adjusted! Our table was adorned with colour popping new decorations from the brand’s Christmas range, place-cards with each bloggers name and handy blog url – and my personal favourite showstopper of the evening, the prettiest ‘festoon’ style light up baubles that hung over the space.
Whilst getting to know each other we were treated to a delicious three course meal which included fondue, some out of this world home-made Aeros for dessert (melt in the mouth mint and white chocolate made super bubbly in an aerator and then solidified into heaven) and a fun cocktail making class hosted by Jimmy Garcia.
There’s nothing more comfortable than being in the company of bloggers – its so different to a press event – absolutely everyone Instagrams, everyone Snapchats, it’s SO not rude to look at your phone the whole night and you can blog stalk everyone after the night is over.
It was also such a treat to wander around the empty store after hours making a note of everything for my Christmas wish-list.
