With an imaginative two year old who begs endlessly for “just one more” story at bedtime and who with weary eyes myself I would (sometimes) quite like to be able to tuck in and say a quick goodnight rather than spending most evenings doing the hug and roll – a trump card in the form of this next product would come in quite handy.
There are a lot of stunning kids products on the market but new bedlinen brand Forivor established by Hackney based Rebecca Attwood and Alice Rossmay just be one of the most poetic I have seen. On the final stretch of their successful Kickstarter campaign Forivor’s extraordinary heirloom-worthy bedding Enchanted Forest aims to inspire magical sleep through innovative storytelling bedding.
The super soft and organic reversible bedding features a unique hand-drawn illustration on each side. One side depicts a British woodland, where wildlife hides in the undergrowth and up in the branches of the trees. Turning over your duvet reveals a transformed nighttime world. A place of wonder, where glow worms light up the enchanted forest and fantastical creatures play in secret burrows underground.
The duvets and blankets are presented in an organic cotton suitcase and are accompanied by a set of Character Cards to inspire storytelling and magical sleep. The cards provide interesting and memorable facts about wildlife on one side, encouraging children to explore and understand the world around them. The other side introduces the transformed creatures of Forivorland, their secrets and magic powers. Storytelling cues and questions encourage children to create their own bedtime tales.
Any adult will remember fondly how utterly wonderful an escape into a fairytale world felt – these illustrations remind me of Enid Blyton books that would transport me into a realm of talking woodland animals as a child. If Aarya had this set in her room she’d have a task getting me out of her bed!
You can buy a duvet set or quilted blanket at an exclusive Kickstarter price of £110. Each duvet or blanket comes with the accompanying set of Junior or Baby character cards, and is available via Forivor’s Kickstarter page until 19 July 2016.
