Celebrating Autumn at The Biscuiteers Woodland Creatures Icing Class

A few weeks ago, I shrugged off all the hipster trappings of East London and ventured across town to Notting Hill. With its candy coloured buildings and gleaming lifestyle boutiques it is the London of storybooks. I had been lucky enough to be invited to The Biscuiteers ‘Biscuit Boutique and Icing Cafe’ to celebrate Autumn […] Read more…

Bathroom Basics

Lately it’s all been about the kitchen for me [in case you missed it, we’ve been renovating] but typically, we have barely finished when something else catches my attention. As winter draws closer I’ve been thinking about cosying up the bathroom and recently I’ve been noticing lots of great products that I’ve been dying to get […] Read more…

Aelder Design

I love coming back from a press preview with the gloriously weighty feeling of discovery. Even if it’s just one beautiful brand, hours in a cold design-fair hall feel worthwhile. Last night at the press preview of Design Junction the object of my affection immediately caught my eye. ‘Aelder Design’ [pronounced ‘elder’] is a brand new mid-century inspired […] Read more…

Given my recent fascination with soap design  – these beautiful Soap Stones by Brooklyn Studio Pelle Designs simply stole my heart. Drawing from a material palette inspired by naturally occurring gemstones such as Rose Quartz and Aquamarine and metamorphic rock such as Jade and Onyx, the soaps are handcrafted in glycerine and combine brilliant colours with […] Read more…

Modern Day Marthas

A shameless plug this morning … This month a dream feature idea of mine was realised in my favourite design magazine of all time – Elle Decoration’s October issue. ‘Let Me Entertain You’ [Pg 161] is a beautifully art directed [by Elle Decoration] and written by myself feature on the Modern Day Martha Stewarts of […] Read more…

Inspiring Business: Re-Found Objects

Re-Found Objects  founded by Simon Young and Jenny Vaughan is a business I have watched grow from a small mail order company in rural Northumbria to a much sought after design brand featured regularly in top design magazines, establishing pop-ups in London and over a year-long concession at Liberty. I remember interning at Elle Decoration many […] Read more…
