A few of my favourite things…

I seem to spend most of my time trawling the halls of Ikea these days while we renovate the last room in our home – the kitchen. There are a few things that keep catching my eye over and over again…

I’ve got my eye on these painterly mugs [one of those finds that are not even on the site!]

Mugs

Last night I spotted Senior – a new kitchen collection featuring beautiful white enamelled cast iron pans and a new set of shiny steel utensils with solid beech handles – a far cry from the usual cheap stuff that falls apart in my stir fry…

Pans Utensils

Lots of lovely pastel tableware in glossy finishes that HGH wouldn’t look out of place in high end dining stores.

Plates

I loved these delicate teardrop shaped dip bowls…

I am obsessed with this new cabinet – Olofstrop! It’s at the front of the store and I can’t stop looking at it every time I go in – thinking about how I could put it to use. It’s quite an unusual piece for Ikea and doesn’t really fit in with their usual Scandi style – kind of Gothic/Rustic, it’s intended for the kitchen and storing plates upright to save space. Love the crafty clasp!

Cuboard

Also quite liking these wingback armchairs Strandmon on the left and Stockholm to the right… they don’t look too Ikea-ey either..

I love Olofstrop, too! If you search Google Images, you can see some great uses for it, including a lovely wee potting shed shelf. There’s a tiny flip-up table that goes with it, too: the perfect pair for a mini space.

Oh May, I’ve gone into dangerous territory… What a beauty! Love the potting shelf!

    Slippery slope, Rohini.
