Yesterday I had one of my favourite kinds of work meeting – a breakfast meeting. It was in a place that I walk past often in Marylebone but have never had the time or pleasure to visit. La Fromagerie nestled just off Marylebone High Street is a snug and atmospheric cafe and cheese cellar. It’s a space that should feel cold with exposed brickwork and groaning rustic shelves stacked with cheese and bread but is intimate and like stepping into a dark Dutch Still Life – with walls strung with herbs and while globes of cheese wrapped in muslin . The decor is wholesome and simple with the cafe dotted with rustic wood tables and chairs.
We ate not cheese but the most wonderful boiled eggs with pats of salted butter and delicious toasted bread soldiers served in earthy glazed vessels. Thankyou Flax PR.
