I have a bit of a crush on “Hollywood Decorator” Kelly Wearstler and her laid back-glamorous style. She fuses old Hollywood glamour with sharp contemporary details and she is known as the queen of tasteful “Maximalism”! What I love is her use of natural and luxurious materials, her interiors and her own line of products for Bergdorf Goodman incorporate semi precious stones, marble, brass and other delicious materials.

Kelly’s blog My Vibe My Life is a rich source of inspiration and insight into how this talented lady sees the world. She updates her blog regularly and I just love peeking into her meetings with her “metal fabricator” who meets her on the LA curbside because his haul is just to heavy to bring up, or trips to “gem shows” to discover the most unique colours. Her eye for colour and detail is just amazing – I could praise this woman all day long!

Sometimes you hit the inspiration jackpot while browsing online and The Sketchbook Series on one of my favourite design blogs Book By Its Cover is just that. The Sketchbook Series is a section of the book design blog that invites artists to share their personal sketchbooks.

With notable illustrators like Jen Corace and Julie Morstad opening up their beautiful minds, the series includes sweet details like notes from the illustrators remembering where they sketched a particular piece and insights into how they create.
