Ok, I’m a little slow on this one as people have been raving about this place for months, but I thought I’d share this new East London hot spot’s interior with you today.
Housed on the ground floor of the famous Tea Building, located on the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road, Pizza East is a modern take on the pizzeria. The menu features traditional and rustic ingredients, with a progressive approach to gourmet pizza and a commitment to sourcing seasonal and local produce. Pizza toppings include ‘veal meatballs, proscuitto, sage, lemon, parsley, cream’ and ‘prawns, tomato, spring onion, marjoram, chilli’.
The interior design pays respect to the building’s industrial roots, with concrete walls and exposed beams, pipes and pillars. Fresh contemporary touches, such as leather seating and steel refectory tables, complete the look.
I actually think the space looks like an authentic space in Italy, with it’s rustic deli in the corner and retro central bar area. I actually love going to lunch to places like this rather than for dinner – it seems like a wonderful place to sit quietly looking out onto Shoreditch High Street with a good pizza and a strong coffee…
