It’s true that I’m always coming across beautiful interiors and location houses in my line of work, but it’s It’s not often a possibility to fully emerge yourself in the experience as the homes will never be your own. I came across what I thought was a quaint home in France at the Tattersall Love agency and melted at the sight of it in the bittersweet way that you do when you see something you desire, but cannot have. However to my delight, I discovered I could have this particular interior! Well, at least for a while…
In the heart of France’s epicentre of food and wine, nestled between two medieval villages, this 19th century farmhouse has been restored to award winning magnificence. Original beams and floors of old wood and terracotta meet specially sourced design classics and bespoke furnishings behind the shutters and thick stone walls of The House at Hautefage.
An exclusive retreat, The House at Hautefage offers the comfort of an old family farmhouse in a modern interior, with a tailored service for up to eight guests. Set atop a hill on five acres of landscaped gardens, the House has five bedrooms [each with a unique feature] and a 1600 square foot loft living space with satellite TV and loosely designated living areas including a bespoke cosy corner elegantly lined with old penguin paperbacks and vintage board games. The well equipped kitchen and dining areas offer bright and spacious places to prepare and enjoy the bounty of France’s celebrated gastronomic hub!
Outdoors, the aroma of lavender and rosemary delicately scents the terraced area, with barbeque and seating for al fresco dining. Adjacent to the terrace is the pool area, enclosed by a gate and beautiful stone wall surround.
