This Art Deco house in Belgium was originally built by sculptor Karel Aubrouck. It’s owners, designers and artists use it as a live/work space, even using the vast space as a gallery.
The home is vast and breathtaking, it has this beautiful and soft industrial quality to it. I can’t get over the sumptous expanse of complimenting and natural colours on the floors and walls. Although appreciating its beauty, each time I found myself feeling as though it were too clinical to inhabit, I would notice a soft an elegant detail or two – beautifully crumpled soft linen curtains, warmly lit nooks, dreamy daylight pouring into the dining room and a charming kitchen door leading to the gardens…
Don’t miss the clever moving staircase that leads to a hidden basement. Clever, clever house.
