Now Isn’t That Lovely…

Stephen J

Stephen Johnson is an old favourite of mine, he is an artist who constructs beautiful sculptures from kitsch ornaments.

His ‘Now Isn’t That Lovely’ collection joins singular domestic ornaments acquired from charity shops, car boot sales and personal donations. Nonsensical worlds of escape are created where rabbits twice the size of dogs float amongst miniature ducks and upside down cats. On closer inspection, or imagination permitting, impossible narratives exist within each piece as teddies make friends with frogs and mice share their dinner with dogs.

I am loving his newest majestic collection of brass sculptures…

Please go onto his site and check out the sculpture of the pug with the black feather boa – it made me L.A.U.G.H!
