I wanted to end the week with this lovely set of new cloth-bound classics from Penguin on my pretend bookshelf. Aren’t they exquisite?

Today we are back in the kitchen with the most exotic of foods, in the form of a Macaron! When Louise told me this weeks contributor was submitting a Macaron recipe, I replied ‘did you say Macaron? you did say Macaron?’. It had never in my life entered my head that a decadent petit-four such as a Macaron could be ‘made’ by the humble home-cook… but here we are today, with a recipe within our reach!
