Last week during my preview travels in London I mentioned brilliant Scandinavian company Muuto. Not being able to bring their newest product over for the launch, they sent over some sublime images.
Their very first foray into furniture design begins this November with the new series of ‘Adaptable’ dining tables. Designed by the award-winning architecture and design studio TAF from Stockholm, [also designers of the E27 lamp].
The studios’ idea was ‘to update the classic Scandinavian wood table. The result has obvious references to traditional Scandinavian furniture making but the choice of materials and detailing give it a new but also timeless expression. Furthermore, we wanted to make the table adaptable to personal needs – with a choice of 3 different table tops, 4 frames and 3 types of legs there are 36 ways to create a personal and unique table.’
