This wonderful DIY made me laugh so much I just had to share it with you!
Create this unique festive display by partially filling a large glass jar with sugar, and stand the figurines on flower pins in the sparkling ’snow’. Slide gumdrops onto lollipop sticks to create the body of each lollipop.
You will need:
1. An array of festive coloured gumdrops in various sizes.
2. Lollipop Sticks.
3. Sprinkles/Hundreds and Thousands and edible glitter sprinkles.
4. White or brown chocolate buttons.
5. A clean scalpel and skewer.
6. A clean pair of tweezers.
7. Sugar
8. Flower pins.
9. A wide glass storage jar.
For Santa: Use the top half of 1 small gumdrop for its hat. Trim 2 oblong gumdrops for arms. Use sugar-coated seeds for buttons and pom-poms. Poke gumdrops where facial features will go with a skewer; and use clean tweezers to pick up and place sprinkles/hundreds and thousands for its eyes and nose.
For Mushrooms
Use 1 small gumdrop for the stem and one large for mushroom top. Use sequin sprinkles for dots.
For Holly
Use halves of small gumdrops for berries and use leaf-shaped gumdrops for holly.
For Snowman
Trim the top of the head; top with 1 candy wafer [I would use a chocolate button as we don't have these in Europe] and half of 1 small gumdrop for the hat. Using a skewer [see 'For Santa'], place sprinkles/hundreds and thousands for eyes, mouth, and buttons. Then insert a sprinkle for the nose!
For Tree
Use 1 flattened gumdrop for the base of the tree. Use 1 small gumdrop for trunk. Cut sides from 1 gumdrop; press sides around top of stick, for tree-top. Flatten 1 gumdrop; using a scalpel, cut out star. Insert sprinkles for lights.
