Made in Clerkenwell

Made

If yesterday’s 2009 Christmas Gift Guide wasn’t enough to meet your shopping needs, then I recommend supporting Britain’s independent artists on the run up to Christmas and head to Made in Clerkenwell at the end of this month.

‘Made’ is a unique shopping even held in the magical St Johns Square in Clerkenwell and is a magnificent opportunity to pick up distinctive pieces of jewellery, fashion, interior products, ceramics, accessories and traditional crafts, by over 80 designers at the forefront of their disciplines. Made In Clerkenwell brims with talent each year, showcasing some of the best work around, and is a veritable feast for the eyes.

This year ‘Made’ also houses The Design Pop-Up Shop where you can buy from 10 of the UK’s top talents Susan Bradley, Francisca Prieto, Catherine Hammerton, Selina Rose, Keep & Share, Product Of Your Environment, Esther Coombs, Lua Lua, Christine Kaltoft and The Automatic Crystal.

The atmosphere at ‘Made’ is always cheery and electric, here you can really feel that true Christmas spirit that the British high streets lack on the run-up to festivities. Then, when you hit a shopping lull, there’s delicious a cake or two at hand.

This has got to be one of my favourite events of the year in the historic heart of Clerkenwell, you can really feel London shaking itself alive with Christmas magic!

So if you’re looking for something different from the usual high street gifts and a more pleasant experience – this is the place for you!
