Mid-Century Modern Show!

So there is a particular furniture fair on this weekend… and I tend to agree with Grand Designs when they claim that ‘This show could cause design lovers a cardiac arrest’! I can’t even think too much about it lest I explode, however I must, to write this post!

This Sunday the 15th of November, the light and bright 60’s concrete and glass Christison-designed refectory and the North and South Cloisters at Dulwich College will play host to the stunning yearly Mid-Century Modern show.

At the show you can find everything for the eclectic home from an original Eames rocker to contemporary ceramics from up and coming British designers.

The Christison Hall exhibits some of Britain’s top mid-century dealers in Scandinavian, European and American mid-century furniture and decorative arts. Whilst upstairs you can find the coolest wares from top young British designers including People Will Always Need Plates and Tracy Kendall. This is a great place to source the latest wallpaper, ceramics, fabrics and some great gifts  [I don't think I shall be 'gifting' any of my finds].

If that’s not enough for your already overheated brain – collectors on the hunt for specialist ceramics, fabrics, art and glass can take a walk to the South Cloisters where twenty more dealers are situated!!!

Doors open from 10am–4pm and entrance is £6, children under 14 are free [I will be camping there overnight.]

Ok, now please excuse me while I step away from the laptop and go stare at something less stimulating…
