Yesterday while rushing around trying to fit in various design previews, it was nice to have a pit-stop at the lovely Flax PR. Located just off Marylebone High Street, their offices are calm and always inviting, they represent many of the big homeware brands like Toast, The White Company, Laura Ashley and more recently Jamie Oliver, and also fashion and luxury brands like Space NK, Emma Hope, and Petit Bateau to name but a few.
Hence their office space is always filled with rows of beautiful clothes and inspiring homewares on display. My partner in crime Alex Toso and I rewarded ourselves with some delicious lunch they had provided from Divertimenti [excuse the blurry picture, the food was too good for any hands to be out of the shot at any one time], and leisurely took in their wonderful display of new collections…
I’m not usually a big White Company fan, but their Spring Summer collection was so beautiful it hurt. Rather than their usually over-pretty products [like that's a crime!] their back to basics collection really worked for me. Oversized handmade style ceramic bowls, lovely simple vases and sturdy ceramic jugs coupled with touches of wooden accessories and delicate glass vessels – simply stunning.
Amongst Jamie Oliver’s usual retro inspired kitchenware it was great to see something a little more bold like his new substantial terracotta range of cookware and these sweet rustic styles storage jars.
And from everyone’s favourite – Toast, a lovely mixture of grey tones and brights in tableware…
How beautiful are these earthy but design-led sets of tableware? Love the stripe going across the base of each item. This is such a perfect individual gift set for someone, Toast can be pretty pricey but I think I’d feel quite content treating myself to a set of these. Although I may feel differently once prices become available…
And finally too glorious for words grey earthenware dishes you could drown in…Thanks Flax PR we had a great afternoon!
