Stunning right? This is an interior/exterior of an Aesop store in Notting Hill one of two Aesop stores in London. Aesop is an Australian based alternative skin care brand. Creating skin, hair and body care products for men and women – since the launch in 1987, the company ethos favours superior grade plant-based ingredients. This shop is like a charming apothecary from a storybook.
With over 22 locations around the world Aesop stores always try to fit into the location they are inhabiting, bringing a little of their charm with them. With this store in Notting Hill they decided to change little, respecting its classically understated elegance, inherent warmth and heartening abundant light.
Aesop’s second store is located in Mayfair and designed by the hugely talented Ilse Crawford. Ilse’s shop translates the company values through a loving restoration of the historic fabric, paired with modern and clean interventions. I love the large blown glass pendant lights, such a modern tribute to the history of the area.
I think these two stores are a great study in brand regeneration. The Notting Hill store is just as lovely as Mayfair, [if not more, I can't choose which one is lovelier] but they are almost like before and afters.
