After such a busy week last week, I felt like simplifying the walls of my blog down to illustrations that were graphic and spoke for themselves. In my search for calm, I came across the following artists who suited my needs just fine…
I loved Brandi Strickland’s ironically titled ‘White Mountain’ made up of patterned and plain diamond shapes. So pretty. Prints are available through her shop Paper Whistle.
I was also drawn to Lauren Nassef’s simple collages – doesn’t this one of a steam boat look like it could be gently rocking from side to side in a sweet French Anime?
Oh and any excuse to give my current obsession Catherine Aitken a mention. These drawings replicated onto her textiles are available through her site. I love this one below made up of what looks like the tops of screw heads. Contact Catherine for prices.
Finally this amusing image of different types of bird, seen through the mechanical eye of Argentinian illustrator Leandro Castelao made me smile!
