I loved Irish author Iris Murdoch’s contemporary Gothic novel The Unicorn so much that I failed to realise until now that she wasn’t a ‘contemporary’ novelist and had passed in 1999. Best known for her novels about sexual relationships, morality, and the power of the unconscious, Iris Murdoch wrote inventive stories about the ordinary.
Re-issued covers as well as looking striking, help to keep the author alive in our minds. That’s why I love these pretty Vintage Classic covers of Iris’s novels. I wish I could find out who the designer was – any ideas?
