I wanted to share this cute home decoration story with you from Gayle of Carry Me Home.
Sisters Kate and Gayle have lived in their sunny Clapham flat together for almost five months, and although it’s not the first time they’ve shared a space it is the first time they felt they could make somewhere their own.
Kate being in the fashion industry and Gayle running her own business ‘Carry Me Home’ [in Carnaby Street's vibrant Kingly Court], both had strong views on styles they favoured for their home. Gayle had a background in performance so tended to lean towards glamorous old Hollywood objects and interiors, whereas Kate’s strong design aesthetic veered towards letters, numbers and asymmetrical spaces. They eventually met in middle by marrying all their charity shops, car boots and odd shops finds in the most harmonious of ways.
They showed off their living space to us – I love that rather than scattering their finds around their home like some collectors do – the sisters have allocated an entire shelving unit to displaying their finds, creating a striking visual arrangement. What’s your favourite find?
