Good morning! Today I have lots of great inspiration lined up for you, a magical restaurant review, great discoveries in home accessories, some truly beautiful art… and not to mention the first instalment of our regular book review from the lovely Miss Baines who will also be introducing herself and her all consuming passion for books!
I begin with my irrational love of ceramics in the form of Louisa Taylor’s pastel coloured vessels. Launched at the beginning of the month at the British Ceramics Biennial, Louisa showed off two new pieces to add to her growing collection. Above is the ‘Orielo’ Supper Set which Louisa based on an 18th century supper set at the Victoria and Albert Musueum. She cleverly matched the individual colours of the bowls to the patterns of the original museum set. This kind of reminds me of an Indian ‘thali’ where all the food comes on a round tray each dish filling up the pots.
Below it are her ‘Husk’ Pair of Vinegarette jugs, pickle pot and mustard pot with gold tipped spoon. I love the use of traditional ‘Jane Eyre’ style hues which are so prevalent and ‘modern’ today.
Inspired by 18th century porcelain vessels and the rituals of dining, Louisa’s tableware is multifunctional and ideal for contemporary living – many of the vessels in her existing collection stack on top of one another for practical storage.
To end – I couldn’t resist showing off below Louisa’s candy coloured vessels from her current collection So pretty… imagine them filled with thick cream or bright red jam on a chilly October morning.
