It just shows how you walk around your own city and not notice a thing! I was reading a French blog yesterday which waxed lyrical about a striking orange and black be-decked bakery with several branches in London – and was stunned that I have missed this gem! Baker and Spice [a sister company of Patisserie Valerie] have branches in Belgravia, Chelsea, Maida Vale and Selfridges and are known for their astounding cakes and pastries and inspiring choice of cooked food and range of original sourdough breads. There’s also a menu of delicious salads, mouth-watering meats and roasted vegetables, making it perfect for a healthy lunch.
