What could be more seasonal and easy on the eye [some seasonal stuff isn’t – ie. gross knitted stuff] than these ‘comforting creatures’ by Flora Kennedy, an Etsy fiber artist based in Scotland. I was enthralled when I discovered her useless but ridiculously covetable knitted ponies, baby pigs, baby whales and my favourite – fat knitted slugs! An average slug measures in at 7 inches long and 1.5 inches high. Flora’s new career begun when she decided to replace all the slugs she squashed whilst gardening [karma?] and soon became addicted. You can buy her slug pattern here.
I could literally weep at how melancholy and adorable these creatures look – begging you to take them home for a snuggle.
Also- check out these crazy characters – ‘Let’s Celebrate Hedgehog!’ and ‘Big Furry Slug’. How could these not bring out your inner 12 year old girl?! Prices start at $11 for a snuggly slug.
