The Beat That My Heart Skipped

No one can ignore Valentines day as hard as they try -  love screams out from every corner in shiny reds and heart shaped silhouettes – so if you can’t beat ‘em, why not join ‘em – in your own style of course. I think that everyone in the know, and certainly this year of all years, will appreciate that simplicity and a few thoughtful touches are the best way to go. I’ll keep my own ideas under my hat for now but here are a few of my favourites.

Martha Stewart tells you how to make these Heart Shaped Tea Bags with cute personal messages on. How perfect for a V-day morning cup of tea! And so easy to make.

Twig and Thistle lets you download a Valentine’s themed graphic for your V-Day treats. So bake your own treats and personalise by printing the graphic onto a paper bag or a sticker to house your goodies. I love how this diy idea encourages you to spread the love – hand them out to everyone, the postman, milkman, neighbours, loved-ones and friends – you’ll be the most popular kid on the block!

If you can’t beat them join them…..yes well that works if you’ve got someone to make lovely heart shaped schmaltz for! If you doing it, and only have your flatmate or even sadder just yourself to make them for, I think it’s a very sad situation
