Everything about Marc Jacobs is desirable, the accessories, the handbags the collections are all spot on trend. The Spring 2008 ready to wear collection is so damn cool – i love the structure of the schoolboy/schoolgirl outfits and the strong block colours – so simple – i think i like the concept more than the actual clothes –  the idea is so achievable.

My New Year’s resolution is to try and broaden my inspirations and wean myself away from illustrations because as much as it inspires me – it also distresses me that i cannot posses them – and i would like my inspiration to come from merely the pleasure of knowing and learning and getting a sense of things rather than coveting! We shall see how that progresses!

However before i move on i want to flag up a final post on painfully beautiful illustrators i had discovered in 2007…!

Natasha Newton

Andrea Offerman

The amazing Julie Morstad

The unusual Andy Kehoe

The subtle Alyson Fox

Oh – isn’t this the perfect Valentines inspiration??? A heart shaped teacup how romantically Victorian!

Art and Craft

This is my favourite collection of objects from the shoot i have just finished – based on magic. I love this amazingly priced whimsical pop up theatre at £9.50 from Whippet Grey and these beautiful letterpresses cards and calling cards by Greenwich Letterpress – i also love the ‘Head of Lenin’ Ceramic bust from Mint (i forget the designer) which gives an impression of a haughty gentleman magician!
