Jeana Sohn

I have discovered a lot of amazing art this, week although all of it seems to come from overseas which frustrates me, i would love to see some stuff like this here in the UK. Maybe there is and i’m just unaware…

Jeana Sohn’s work reminds me of the figures in Indian mythalogical paintings, really raw and almost tribal – the colours are so rich.

Amy Sol

I have fallen in love with Korean born, Las Vegas based Amy Sol’s paintings. She paints whimsical dreamlike worlds populated by girls, oversized animals and exotic plants, her storylines reminiscent of Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki.

I love the sublimely muted pallet she uses and the tantalising manga, folk-art, vintage illustration and modern design influences which come through in the imagery.

I am mesmerised by the painting featuring the whale entitled ‘i dream of a distant cousin’.

I’m feeling very inspired by Toast’s imagery for their current campaign…
